Kebumen Geopark Youth Forum (previously known as Geopark Karangsambung-Karangbolong Youth Forum) is a forum for Kebumen youth to contribute to geopark development through real action based on the pillars of conservation, education, and community empowerment.
KGYF was initiated by the Kebumen Geopark Management Agency in 2021, consisting of Kebumen youth aged 16–30 with diverse scientific backgrounds and expertise. In KGYF, youth can express ideas and collaborate through various activities to support Kebumen Geopark development.
Since its establishment, KGYF has been doing various projects to make people understand the importance of natural and cultural diversity in Kebumen and educating how to use these resources wisely based on geopark principles (Conservation, education, and community economic development). KGYF’s projects that has carried out include geopark goes to school, education and planting of mangroves, geopark conservation fair, movement to clean up trash, socialization to tourism managers and local communities, webinar about potential disasters in Kebumen, and other educational activities about Kebumen geopark.
